Real Fun in a Virtual World
My goal is to make virtual meetings, parties, and shows as engaging and active as possible.

Meetings and Webinars

I help people meet in a streamlined, hassle-free setting that is accessible anywhere you have an internet connection. Whether it's Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, I can handle screen sharing, breakout rooms, troubleshooting tech issues, and even add music to keep the energy up. My primary clients are Second City Works and Fairplay Communications, two organization who use improv exercises to help people communicate, lead, and adapt more efficiently to foster a more positive (and productive) work environment.

Parties and Celebrations

Did you know that a Zoom party can actually be fun? A few tips: have an energetic emcee with a good playlist to keep the momentum going, utilize breakout rooms and simple, structured games to break the ice and provide conversation starters, and have someone else handle the tech so guests don't have to think about it, they can just enjoy the event. I can help with all of that!

For one baby shower I created graphics for some classic shower games, then we sent folks into randomly assigned breakout rooms to answer them in small groups. We interspersed speeches and even a virtual tour of the nursery between games to add variety and keep folks engaged. At the end we opened up pre-assigned breakout rooms of people who knew each other so they could catch up while the parents-to-be bounced between rooms and said hellos and goodbyes.
Let's plan a party!

Shows and Live Streams

One of the greatest things to come from the pandemic is the shift toward making content that is more accessible to a wider audience. For years I've helped creative folks run in-Zoom storytelling shows that were also broadcast live to Facebook, I've streamed a wide variety of play readings, comedy shows, and panels, and I even ran a virtual red carpet for the Toronto International Film Festival with the Firecracker Department.  With the use of green screens we were able to put participants side by side in front of a virtual step and repeat.

Some of the most talented human beings I've ever seen were performing to an audience of about a dozen people in the basement "theater" of a bar. Helping those folks translate their shows and ideas into a medium that works online, that keeps their audience interested in coming back each week, has become a passion of mine. The fact that these shows are available to people regardless of where they live or how well they're able to get around is an added bonus. If a show or performer is good, they can be good anywhere, but it takes an understanding of the platform you're using to know how that medium affects your audience. I bring my expertise in streaming and virtual performance to every project to make sure we're getting the absolute most out of the experience.

Beyond designing graphics and handling all the streaming tech, I have years of experience in comedy, acting, and writing and can offer suggestions to make your show the best fit it can be for a streaming experience.
